I married my best friend and the love of my life in June. Added to our happiness was that same day the US Supreme Court ruled that everyone could get married. I was honored to be married on Marriage Equality Day. We included this line in our ceremony - "Because despite all of our differences, love is what we all share. It's the great unifier — our one universal truth. That no matter who we are, where we've come from, what we believe, we know this one thing: love is what we're doing right. "
I traveled. We went to Southern California, New Mexico, Nevada, and Hawaii. We spent time with friends and family. It was wonderful to go on adventures and always wonderful to come home.
I changed my health. I lost a lot of weight but better then that I improved my mobility, my sleep apnea, and I just felt better. I continue to work on my health and not just the number on the scale. The changes I have made have made life so much better.
I told the people in my life how much I love and appreciate them. From all the friends and family who traveled near and far to see us and those who we missed this year, I said I love you and thank you more this year. You all made life so amazing. Thank you to all of my Ohana, you make life so beautiful.
I launched this new website. After years of doubting anyone would be interested in what I had to say, I decided to stop listening to self doubt and start listening to my dreams. Here I am. Ready to speak, to be heard, to be seen.
I converted to a full time employee. I spent part of the year as a contractor and the rest as a full time employee. I am thankful to my colleagues for making it a good year as an employee. There were doubts, frustrations, and moments I would love to do over but overall working this year was pretty good. Looking forward to the new year after a couple days off.
Thank you 2015. You rocked!
2016 I cannot wait to meet you. I will eat better, speak my truth, fight body shaming, move more, laugh often, live life happily, and love with all my heart. Best wishes to all of you.
